In 1901, Charlie Cathy Conner, a farmer and a Master Carpenter started a business in the Dallas area that is now known as The Conner Group. He started out by lending a helping hand to other farmers in need of a skilled craftsman to build barns. He quickly realized that he and his family could prosper from his love of carpentry. In the 1920′s Charlie’s son. J.O. Conner, joined his father’s thriving business and also became a member of the Carpenters Union. Upon his death in 1996, J.O, was the oldest active member of the Carpenters Union in the United States. J.O. assumed his father’s legacy; building many homes, churches and commercial buildings in what was then, the wide open spaces surrounding Forest Lane in the North Dallas area. Now five generations later, Terry Griffith, Charlie’s great-great grandson has taken over and expanded the family business to focus specifically in the area of remodeling, new home design and construction. Conner Family Builders has grown tremendously in the last hundred years; from the necessity of a well crafted barn, to the beautiful homes and flourishing neighborhoods of today where families, like yours live, work and play.
